James Duong
Principal and Founder
James was born and raised in New Jersey and spent significant time in Easton, PA, where he supported his family's journey to achieve the American Dream through their sushi restaurant. This experience honed his sense of ownership, ability to navigate ambiguity, and customer-centric approach. These qualities have consistently driven him to take on and excel in trailblazing roles throughout his career.
Before founding Four Stories, James held leadership positions at global law firms, including Proskauer Rose and Latham & Watkins, as well as at Spaceflow, a leading real estate technology company. His educational background includes an MBA from Cornell's SC Johnson School of Business and a B.S. in Corporate Finance & Accounting from Bentley University.
Outside of his professional life, James enjoys golfing, playing the guitar, and attending live concerts featuring classic rock bands. He is also rehabbing from a torn Achilles tendon sustained while playing basketball.
I founded Four Stories to acquire and operate a single business. I am dedicating my career to your business and am committed for the long-term. You will get to know me. I am not private equity nor a strategic acquirer that sees your business as just another asset in their portfolio.

Our Process

Intro Call
We are always excited to speak with and learn from successful entrepreneurs. In the initial call, we will discuss at a high level your company and goals. All information shared is confidential. To see if there is a fit, please email James at james@fourstorieslegacy.com.

In-person Meetings
Next is to learn more about the company. We will request information such as financial performance and what makes your company great. All information is kept confidential under an NDA. At the end of this phase, we will present a non-binding Indication of Interest (IOI) with a valuation range.

Agree on Terms
During this phase we will meet in-person to learn more about each other. We will request additional information to gain a deeper understanding of your business and work together to reach a price and structure that works for you. After which, we will sign a Letter of Intent (LOI).

Due Diligence
After the LOI is signed, we start the legal documentation process. Lawyers and accountants are brought in to help with the required final diligence.
05
Close and Celebrate!
On closing day, we will sign documents, wire funds to you, and celebrate together! A post-close plan will be in place to seamlessly transition the company for the future.
